Beyond the 9th Ward: Contacting the New York Times

Dear Editor,
Thank you for, once again, placing the post-Katrina challenges to the road on the front burner. The plight of the families, particularly in the 9th Ward as well as others, is heart breaking. The road home should be a road that leads home, not a FEMA trailer.
With Katrina’s second anniversary coming up next month, I hope that you will also provide coverage to the plight of the other parts of New Orleans and to the Mississippi Gulf Coast as well. Perhaps a story on the impact that the lack of a Veterans’ facility is having on Katrina area vets, the impact that the lack of jail space is having on enforcing child support payments, the impact on families when their insurance companies deliberately fail to pay wind policy claims, and the impact on families ability to rebuild or renovate their Katrina ravaged homes because of the lack of contractors in New Orleans and on the Gulf Coast.
Your coverage is so vital to rejuvenating national attention to these challenges in the Katrina Land. I encourage you to do more in depth pieces like the one you just did. Your coverage will further assist a speedier recovery.
Sincerely,
Your Name
Your Address
Your City, State, and Zip Code
Your Phone Number
