Contacting FEMA Director Regarding Mental Health Services for Katrina's Families
Phone 202-646-3900 and ask for Director David Paulison’s office. State what is in italics--or adapt it to your own liking.
Feel good about your participation in the grand experiment called American democracy. Remember, political hell raising is fun!
Have a terrific day!

May I please speak with Director Paulison or whomever will take a message and pass it along to him?
My name is _______ and I am an American living in (city, state). I wish for him to know that I find it appalling that FEMA is denying the Katrina-ravaged area funding for mental health services.
For 25 years, FEMA has provided funding for crisis mental health services after disasters such as Katrina. However, Bush’s FEMA is breaking tradition and not permitting monies for these much needed services.
I think that is morally wrong. I want those families to have these services.
Please forward my comment to the FEMA Director.
Thank you. And, have a nice day!

Provide your name and any other information that they may request. As always, be polite. The persons at the other end of the phone are merely taking a message, doing a job, then going home to their own families and with their own set of problems. Kindness goes a long way, even in politics.
